Radio, was earlier a big box with a couple of stations to play on. But today, the term radio has redefined the means of entertainment. It is played not just in the kitchen while you are cooking or in your living room while you are reading the news paper with your morning cup of tea. What used to come in a big box is now available in portable, pocket sizes with a host of feature and wonderful sound effects.
Pure One VL-61085 Classic Black DAB Radio is one such DAB Radio available in a classic black colour. This portable wireless device has 30 presets (DAB or FM), ReVu Pause and Rewind feature, a Line in and a full range 3” drive unit. It has RDS for FM station name display and RDS scrolling text. You can also connect an iPod/ MP3 player or a portable CC to this wireless set. The Re Vu ™ feature allows you to pause and rewind live DAB radio for up to 15 minutes.
It has a handy countdown kitchen timer, an easy to use tone or radio alarm, a clock with sleep timer, and an adjustable bass and treble. A date function is also available. There is a display backlight and automatic clock adjustment to GMT. The display brightness and the alarm volume can be controlled.
It also features text Scan ™ which allows you to pause and control scrolling text. The intellitext feature allows you to browse stored scrolling text at your convenience. This DAB radio is provided with a 3.5 mm stereo headphone socket.
This is a stereo digital radio with full Band III, L-Band and FM reception. The stereo output requires headphones or external amplifier. It is capable of decoding all DAB transmission modes from 1 to 4 including 192 kbps. It supports FM RDS and Radio Text.
The audio power output is 1.8 W RMS. The input connectors include a 12V Dc power adapter socket (230V adapter supplied), a mini USB connector for software upgrades and a 3.5 mm line in for auxiliary devices. The controls available on the system are Standby, browse, Select dial, Volume/Mute, Timer, Presets, ReVu, DAB/FM and Menu and Stations. The stylishly designed portable Vl-61085 has an LCD display that is easy to read along with 16x 2 character display as well as the status icon.
The main power supply is a 230V AC to 12V (0.8A) DC external power adapter. The power consumption in operation mode is 2.05 watts (industry average 5.49 watts), and 0.7 watts in the standby mode (industry average 2.64 watts). In that way, the system is very economical in terms of power consumption. It can also be operated through battery power supply. It requires 6 C (R14) batteries or Charge PAK. At normal levels alkaline batteries provide approximately 80 hours whereas Charge PAK provides 40 hours approximately of portable DAB listening.
This Pure One VL-61085 Classic DAB Radio has 210 mm (width) 145 mm (height) and 72 mm (depth) excluding controls. The aerial provided is an Integral telescopic one. The main adaptor is included. The company provides a comprehensive warranty of 2 years.
